FARM INFO

High in the rolling hills of West Arsi, where morning mist drifts slowly through the forests and the air carries the scent of flowering coffee trees, the story of Mundayo begins.

Coffee here isn’t grown on vast plantations, but in small garden plots tended by hundreds of local farmers. Each family carefully cultivates a handful of trees, often alongside maize or enset, passing down generations of knowledge rooted deeply in the land.

During harvest, only the ripest cherries are picked—deep red, almost glowing against the green canopy. These cherries are delivered to the Mundayo washing station, where they are laid out under the Ethiopian sun on raised drying beds. For weeks, they are turned by hand, slowly absorbing warmth by day and cooling in the crisp mountain air at night.

This natural process is what gives the coffee its character—intense fruit, honeyed sweetness, and delicate florals that seem to echo the landscape itself.

Every cup tells a piece of this place: the altitude, the soil, the patience of the farmers, and the rhythm of the harvest season. It’s not just a coffee—it’s a reflection of West Arsi’s vibrant terroir and the people who bring it to life.
